  • Nearly all skin types can benefit from dermaplaning, however, a dermaplaning facial is not recommended on those suffering from severe acne and people who have over production of the sebaceous gland. *Extremely oily skin*

    Contraindications:

    • Botox or Filler (within 1 week)

    • Eczema or Psoriasis (Treatment Area)

    • High Doses of Aspirin

    • Retin-A (within 5 days)

    • Seizures

    • Skin Lesions

    • Sunburn or Wind Burned Skin

  • Avoid extensive exercise, sun or tanning beds, hair removal, waxing or other forms of exfoliation, swimming pools, hot water including saunas, jacuzzi’s and hot tubs on the scheduled day of treatment. Cease use of any products containing Retinol, AHAs, Glycolic, Lactic and Salicylic acid 5 days before treatment.

    If you are prone to cold sores, it is highly recommended to take cold sore medication 2 days prior to treatment, on the day of treatment and 1 day after the treatment. This is a precautionary step which is well worth considering.

  • Immediately following treatment, it is best to not wear makeup or to excessively sweat (exercise) for the rest of the evening. Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours and wear a broad spectrum SPF 30+ for at least 7 days. For 3 days avoid using active skin care ingredients including AHA’s, BHA’s, and retinols.

  • No, dermaplaning will not make your hair grow back thicker and darker.

    Your hair will grow back exactly the same color and thickness as prior to having dermaplaning facial treatments. Hair follicles do not change from shaving the hair off at the surface level.

  • No, Dermaplaning will not cause outbreaks.

    Dermaplaning will not cause you to breakout, in fact it will actually help prevent breakouts from happening. Exfoliating the dead skin cells will help to keep your skin clear. It will allow for improved product penetration. Removing the dead skin cells, oil, and debris from the follicle, allows the active ingredients in skin care products to absorb quicker and more effectively, speeding up cell turnover and killing more bacteria.
